The Human Race
A little girl asked her mother, "How did the human race appear?"
The mother answered, "God made Adam and Eve and they had children and so was all mankind made." Two days later, the girl asked her father the same question.
The father answered, "Many years ago, there were monkeys from which the human race evolved." The confused girl returned to her mother and said, "Mom, how is it possible that you told me the human race was created by God, and Daddy said they developed from monkeys?"
The mother answered, "Well, dear, it is very simple. I told you about my side of the family and your Daddy told you about his."

Andrea
We had a pretty crazy weekend with my daughter particpating in two sports. This does not normally happen but she was asked to fill in a spot on our Girls Softball All Stars Team for a tournament and she happened to have opening day for her NFL Flag Football team. She did really well and enjoyed the weekend and while I have still haven't figured this part out........she was no where near as tired as us - her parents! LOL.

Christmas In July
Did I mention I hate Christmas in July? I've always hated that concept/idea but I can't say that I have any paticular reason why LOL. Deb from our SCCB yahoo group challenged us to make a Christmas Card to get our ideas rolling. Do you have any idea how difficult this was for me? It's been so hot and rainy around here that it was hard to get into the sprit of things and then one day I found my retro Christmas paper.........then the lights went off and I saw a great sketch and next thing I know the card was done. I will give credit to my son for picking out the stamp, seriously I couldn't even decide what stamp to use so I told him to open my Christmas drawer and just pick one he liked. I'd say he chose pretty well. A nice sleigh ride in July would be nice! DEB - thanks for making us do this :) I found that I do like Christmas in July!

New Stamp Company!
I'm kind of funny about my likes and dislikes and I'll be the first to tell you my tastes change a lot. But somehow in the world of blogging I found this website and I think Deb may have led me to it but I am not sure. However I really like the first couple stamps that Kathrina is putting out. Please see her blog for some great ideas (SEE HER FABO SKETCHES) and see the new stamps that ship FREE July 30th for blog readers.

Animal Lovers Swap
I hosted a swap on the Diva group that was anything related to Animals. These were the cards I made for my partner Susan and now that she has them I know it's safe to post! The card using MFT was colored with copics and then the images were embossed so that I could brayer and sponge the back ground on without messing up the image. Now my son who loves to critique my work told me that Chickens don't eat on the beach. I promise he's still alive. The second card is an older SU set called Serengeti and I just love to use it. I am enjoying using my older sets again and seeing what can be done with them. Hope you enjoy!

Speaking of Retro.........
Since I posted the retro commercials I thought I'd share this card with you today. It's a Crafty Secrets Stamp and don't you just love it. I've had a lot of fun playing with it lately. There was a challenge on the Scor-Pal group to make a top bottom gate fold card so I gave it a whirl and this is what I came up with. I needed a thank you card for my friend here at work and we both love this type of stuff. I think she enjoyed it :) As always I used brilliance ink and my copics.
Wednesday Fun - Retro Commercials
Ok Deb I even found some retro commercials! However they are about my most unfavorite food of all. UGH - bananas. Videos are cute though! I remember the chiquita banana song. Sheesh I must be old.

The Cow Jumped Over the Moon
This card was a little difficult for me because I had to follow a layout and of course my dear friend Angie (who is MIA these days) allowed me to borrow her star punches since I don't own any :) but anyway, this was a sketch challenge for the Diva group and I was able to use one of the many images I received during my Image Queen Reign last month. It's so cute isn't it? It's from Danni so I'm sure it's a TAC image. I love cows and always have. We had some on my grandparents farm but they were Angus and they were solid black all over but I loved petting them and watching them out in the fields. I hated when they went to "sale". But then we would get new babies and that was always fun too.

Lip Gloss Baby
I just wanted to share this really cute RAK I received from Linda on the CTRUS group I'm on. I lovvvvvve this stamp for a number of reasons mainly because she's retro and because she's not super skinny! Don't get my wrong I love my bellas but it's nice to have realistic stamps isn't it? This card is a lip gloss holder with a tiny little mirror on the inside. It's sort of a very shiny cardstock but I assure you I can put lipgloss on using it. Which by the way I love lipgloss! My favorite is this minty stuff from Bath and Body works. My cubicle neighbor at work got us all hooked on it LOL. She's an enabler too!
Bubblebella
Ahhhh the good life, a hot bubble bath and some relaxation what could be better? This bella was made for a Diva named Beth and now that I know she has received it I wanted to make sure and get it posted. I printed this layout a while ago from Tangii's blog and I've used it a couple times. It's just really fun to do. I used Brilliance ink and yes I colored her with my copic markers and added a touch of sparkle to her bubbles. I hope you take some time out to relax and unwind this evening.

Wildlife in the burbs
So my wonderful DH decided to put a birdfeeder in the front yard while we were working on our landscaping.......this turned into 2 birdfeeders, a landscaped area with rocks so we can now kill all the weeds that the birdfood causes and now our very own bunny rabbit. Thankfully he was eating the weeds and not my flowers which were only several feet away. I was in my office and I realized one of my cats had a very strange look on his face and was staring out the window so I took a peek this is what I found. My cats and so grateful to my husband for this birdfeeder area - you really have no idea. They are tormented all day long now LOLLLL.

Spoiled Birthday Diva
So as you can see I got some more really cool birthday cards and I had to share them with you. The birthday bella is from Cathy and she also sent me some cupcake little note pads and some little embellishments that look like a lot of fun. The balloonabella is from Kristie and I must know what the paper is. It's so pretty and last but not least my dear dear dear missing in action friend Angie made me a hippo. A hippo with a big butt LOLLLLLLLL. Isn't it just too cute. I think it's Gina K which means I need to borrow this from her. :) Thank you all for thinking of me I really feel so uplifted to know I have so many friends out there!

Birthday RAK
I wanted to share another birthday RAK I received from Melinda on the CTRUS group. I have such special memories of planting pansies with my grandma out in an old well behind her farmhouse. She could look out her kitchen window at them. This card brought some good memories back. Thanks for thinking of me.
WED FUNNY
MEDICAL ALERT FOR WOMEN
You've heard about people who have been abducted and had their kidneys removed by black-market organ thieves. Well, this kind of cruel theft is happening with other body parts as well!
My thighs were stolen from me during the night a few years ago. I went to sleep and woke up with someone else's thighs. It was just that quick. The replacements had the texture of cooked oatmeal. Whose thighs were these and what happened to mine? I spent the entire summer looking formy thighs. Finally, hurt and angry, I resigned myself to living out mylife in jeans. And then the thieves struck again. My butt was next. I knew it was the same gang, because they took pains to match my new rear end to the thighs they had stuck me with Earlier. But my new butt was attached at least three inches lower than myOriginal! I realized I'd have to give up my jeans in favor of long skirts. Two years ago I realized my arms had been switched. One morning I was fixing my hair and was horrified to see the flesh of my upper arms swingto and fro with the motion of the hairbrush. This was really gettingscary - my body was being replaced one section at a Time. What could they do to me next? When my poor neck suddenly disappeared and was replaced with a turkeyneck, I decided to tell my story. Women of the world, wake up and smell the coffee! Those "plastic" surgeons are using REAL replacement bodyparts stolen from you and me! The next time someone you know has something "lifted", look again - was it lifted from you?THIS IS NOT A HOAX. This is happening to women everywhere, every night. WARN YOUR FRIENDS P.S. Last year I thought someone had stolen my boobs. I was lying in bed and they were gone! But when I jumped out of bed, I was relieved to seethat they had just been hiding in my armpits as I slept. Now I keep themhidden in my waistband.

Friendship
This card was sort of patterned off a card I made in one of the punch classes I took last month at my SU friends house. I liked the way we cut the punch out of the middle and made it a flower so when I was looking through my punches the other day I decided to try it on my own. The paper is from a retro pack I picked up at HL. I can't stress this enough SU punches are the only way to go for me LOL. I keep breaking the other ones.
Birthday RAK's
Just had to share some absolutely lovely birthday cards I received. These ladies are so talented and I'm lucky to participate in such terriffic card groups! Thank you all for thinking of me. The pink card is from Carole, the red card is from Danni and the green card is from Julia. Aren't they all so pretty.

Smile
Today I am sharing a second card with you. I wanted to wait and make sure the recepient received it before I posted. This card was made for a Kids Swap on the Diva group. I used a couple of older SU sets (aren't they cute) and I stamped it with brilliance ink then let sit and dry for a couple minutes and then colored with my copics. I've found the best cardstock to use is the 110 carstock from Walmart and Brilliance ink with my copics. If I let it dry while I'm washing my stamps off it's usually ready and I can even color with E00 Skin White and it doesn't bleed. Normally I love a good rain but even here in Northeast Indiana I'm getting tired of it :)

Glitter Straw
Have you ever tried blowing reinkers around glossy paper through a straw? It makes you rather lightheaded and out of breath LOL. Our technique for my CTRUS group was to use the glitter straw technique and create a card. Not sure if it was my favorite technique but the card ended up better than I hoped. If you've tried this please let me know how it turned out for you.

Birthday RAK's
Last night was a really cool mail night! I received all three of these great birthday cards from some of the yahoo groups I am in. I have never seen some of these folds or images before so it was exciting to check them out. I love the images on each one of them, they are so pretty and I really really appreciate you ladies thinking of me. The waterfall card came from Joani and the butterfly came from Beth and the cutie patootie magnolia card came from Tricia. I just love them. Thanks again so much.

Thursday Travel - Sweet n Sassy Fundraiser
I wanted to share a letter with you today that Korin from Sweet n Sassy Stamps sent. If you have seen her blogs lately you know that her niece is undergoing chemo for the second time. She is having an online fundraiser through her stamps if you are interested in helping by purchasing stamps.
Hello Friends....
If you follow my personal blog (Inky Doodle) you may know about my 19 month old niece, Janessa, who has MDS (pre-leukemia). I have attached a picture of Janessa so you can enjoy her sweet smile.
She has finished round two of her chemo treatments but it's been a roller coaster for the whole family as you can imagine. She has 3 older brothers and 1 older sister but they are all under the age of 12. She has at least 4 more treatments to go so they still have a long way ahead of them. So many of my blogging and praying friends have asked if there is more we can do...well there is! With your help, I would like to help ease some of their burden by having a fundraiser through Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. From today through July 31st I will be donating 50% from each stamp set sold (not including Sarah Kay and Rachelle Anne Miller). So if you've been thinking about getting some stamps sets, now is the time to do it! If you have any questions, please let me know.
My friend Jeanna is also doing a fundraiser to help out the Joseph's She is an Avon rep and is donating 50% off the sales from the two flyers attached from now until July 31st. For more info about Jeanna's fundraiser or to order please contact her at j_hoppes_22@hotmail.com.
If the only way you can help is to pray that is great! Your prayers are powerful! God is good and he WILL get them through this!!
To follow along Janessa's journey visit her Caring Bridge page.
Thank you.

Birthday for a Bella
Well since I've been trying my hand at the Postabella June sketch repeatedly (LOL) - I made a birthday card for a co-worker. She's a very fun outgoing kind of person so I hope she enjoys this bella!
It's definitely getting easier to think outside of the box aka square to speak and make a round card. I used some retro paper I had purchased in a pack as well as my embossing folder and prima flowers. I did stamp the lovely bella with brilliance ink and then colored her with my copics and used a touch of my glitter pen on her eyelashes and balloon. Every bella should sparkle! Have a Happy Wednesday!Wed Funny - The Preacher and The Lawnmower
A preacher was making his rounds to his parishioners on a bicycle, when he
came upon a little boy trying to sell a lawn mower.
'How much do you want for the mower?' asked the preacher.
'I just want enough money to go out and buy me a bicycle,' said the
little boy. After a moment of consideration, the preacher asked, Will you take my
bike in trade for it?' The little boy asked if he could try it out first, and, after riding the
bike around a little while, said, 'Mister, you've got yourself a deal.'
The preacher took the mower and began to crank it. He pulled on the rope
a few times with no response from the mower. The preacher called the little boy over and said, 'I can't get this mower to start.'
The little boy said, 'That's because you have to cuss at it to get it started.'
The preacher said, I'm a minister, and I can't cuss. It's been so long
since I've been saved that I don't even remember how to cuss.'
The little boy looked at him happily and said, 'You just keep pulling on
that rope. It'll come back to ya.

Anniversary
My husband Jason and I just celebrated our 3rd anniversary on 7/2/08 and I wanted to take some different shots of the roses he brought me. We work together and that morning he brought me a dozen roses, the new chocolate mint m&m's (YUMMMY), a cream cheese bagel for breakfast LOL and some wonderful cards. Seriously he's the best husband, just ask my friends they are all wishing they had him :)
Party til the cows come home!
Aren't these the cooliest? Is that how you say it? My kids say cooooolllliessst LOL. Of course I'm not supposed to say that though :) Linda sent me the cows and told me they were the first stamps she bought out of college! Deb sent me the coolest images - check out that bird and the butterfly. I can't wait to color these up!

June Postabella Card ONE
Have you ever made a card and you knew how you wanted it to turn out? And then it didn't..............LOL. Well that's how this one was. We had a sketch challenge for June on the Postabella group and I had such a hard time with it. I messed with it and messed with! Finally I gave up and mailed it off to poor Theresa with my condolences :) HOWEVER - I did make another one this past weekend and liked it a bit better so please watch your mail this week!
