Happy Thanksgiving

A couple weeks ago my husband sent me a funny picture that I called the Turkey Train and it was taken by one of his model railroader groups. A few days ago my husband and my son were running errands and "happened" to go through the rail yard here locally.....( I say happened because it never happens unintentionally LOL) and actually saw some LOCAL New Haven turkeys running down the track. They thought it was pretty funny and took some photos. We figure they were picking up pieces of corn and grain that fall off the railroad cars as they pull into the rail yard. I guess if you want fresh turkey you know where to look now! Just go to your local rail road tracks. Dumb turkeys! We are going to visit my sister and her family today, I hope whatever your Thanksgiving plans are you have a wonderful day. ENJOY!

Thank You

I couldn't wait to use my PinkPaperyStudio cowgirl again. This week the DT was issued a challenge to make a thank you card, isn't she pretty? I just love these digi images. If you want to take a look at this line check them out here, they are wonderful! She was colored with my Copics and I used SU colored cardstock. The white cardstock is Georgia Pacific and it's my favorite. There is no pilling when you color and it doesn't bleed through as much as others. The DP is from MM's Funky Vintage Collection. The paisley paper just went hand in hand with my Cuttlebug Paisley Embossing Folder. I absolutely love Between Us Girls, don't you?

Wednesday Funny

The past couple weeks I introduced you to my adorable doggies, Sam and Lilly so this week I thought I'd introduce you to one of my "cats".......I say "cats" with all the love in the world, but they are seriously whacked. Oliver is our youngest cat and he's got quite a personality. He was supposed to be Isabelle and after a couple days I picked him up and realized she was a he.....life has never been the same since. He's exactly like a teenage boy, annoying and loving all at the same time. LOL. Since I've been home the past month he's taken up a part time job on you tube (just kidding but it looks like him) and I hope you enjoy it. We sure got a kick out of it.

Template Tuesday

It's that time of the week again, yep Template Tuesday. I have to admit that this is one thing I look forward to making each week. I love to follow sketches and see how they turn out. This week's sketch came to us from Maria and I reallllllllly wanted to play with my new Oval Nesties and it came out just a bit larger (LOL) so mine isn't exactly the same but I just love these snowmen from SU. They are an older set probably from 98-99 and still just as fun as ever to color. Please remember to take a peek at all of the Template Tuesday bloggers. P S - I've had some questions about voting for my card....yes please continue to vote each day until Dec 28th. You can vote for me every 8 hours I believe. Thank you so much for all the help I really do appreciate it.

Splish Splash I was taking a bath

Do you ever days where you just feel "blah" and not up to doing much? That would be the past couple of days. I feel like I'm freezing from the inside out and just plain tired. I did walk on my treadmill and do my bike but it took every ounce of spare energy I had. UGH. I feel like another hot bath is in my future......don't those feel good when you don't feel so well? This was a swap I sent out a couple weeks ago for http://www.treehousestamps.com/ and I think it's probably ok to post now. I love this pig he's just too funny. Yep I used my Brilliance Ink and my copics. I also added stickles to the bubbles and as usual used my cuttlebug folders and a couple kinds of ribbon. I can't live without those few items. What are some things you must use on your cards?

PS - if you get a chance please remember to vote for my Brickfish Scholarship Entry here.

Thanks and have a great day!

Happy Thanksgiving

This cute little House Mouse image was sent to me from Danni from the new yahoo group she runs called RandomActsOfKindnessStampersRUS and it's an image exchange group. I just love this image and Danni was kind enough to send me a few. Then she hosted a challenge to make a card using an image we had received from someone on the group. I had so much fun making this card because I just love HM and pumpkin pie :) I actually used something other than my copics to color it can you believe it? I used my Prisma watercolors instead. I know shocking. I need to get them out more often. I do love the way they color. I added some fall buttons and rafia to jazz it up a bit. PS - the winner of the challenge was Marcia and you can see her card here. It's very pretty! Have a wonderful weekend!

Sweet Miss Daisy *Heart* Cookies

I'm betting a lot of you read Anna Wrights blog Sassy & Sweet Notes.......and I love the fact that she writes about her animals on the farm as much as she does her cards. I spent every summer on my grandparents farm and it's such fun to relive those memories through her blog. She even posted a recipe that caught my attention and yesterday I finally had time to try it. Please check out the entire recipe here. It's called Sweet Miss Daisy Hearts Cookies and they are dog cookies. I have to tell you my dogs gave them two paws up as well. Sam has already figured out where they are and when I get anywhere near the cabinet he starts his hopping LOL. PS - my DH is now sure that I need to find a new part time job and go back to work hahahahahahah. If you know of anything please let me know :)

Wednesday Funny

A couple weeks ago I showed you a funny dog video and my dog Lilly aka Lillypoo. This week I decided to share my other doggie, Sam. He was so tiny when we got him we wanted a big name for him so Sam is short for Sampson. Little did I know he would grow up to be the worlds biggest Chihuahua. Seriously he's like 13 lbs and has really long legs. He's a very loving sweet dog, just a little "off" sometimes hahahahah. Ok so he hops a lot. Seriously he hops. I don't know why. He hates being outside and so he hops outside the door for us to let him in.

The video clip is quite funny, when I saw it I kept laughing and thinking he makes Sam look normal :) Oh poor Sam......he knows we love him.

Template Tuesday

This week's sketch came from Angie and I thought it was pretty cool. She came over for a little bit on Sunday and we messed around deciding what we were going to do with it. I used her new SU set and Night of Navy ink and embossed the images. We had our first snowflakes yesterday so as I finished the card I thought it was perfect LOL. Too bad none of it stuck to the ground but it was so pretty to watch for awhile. *** If you make a card using this sketch be sure to post it and let us know so we can see it too. Have a wonderful day!

Dear Santa...............

I didn't want to keep you in suspense any longer.......this is my other image from PinkPaperyStudios. It's from the Between Us Girls line and it's called Simply Sexy. You can see it here. I think it's got to be one of my favorite lines. My Cowgirl also came from the same collection. I used my favorite toys to make this card, my new cuttlebug, ribbon, my new SU scallop punch and of course my copic markers. As soon as I saw this image I laughed and knew I'd turn it into a Christmas card.....of course I'll be selective about who receives it....wink wink. Have a Happy Monday!

Thank you!!!!

I'm one lucky stamper. I received this award from not one but two really nice, fun online girls. Danni and Susan. I appreciate you both very much!

So here's the rules with this award:

1. The winner may put the logo on their blog.
2. Put a link to the person who sent you the award.
3. Nominate 5 blogs.
4. Put links to their blogs
5. Leave a message for your nominees

Now the hard part is who to pick......I'm sure people have gotten these but I'm just going to pick ones I have been looking at a lot lately for ideas and inspiration. I had way to many I thought of because there are so many fabulous cardmakers and bloggers but here are just a few.

Simply Cowgirl

Yesterday I was able to share my fabulous Design Team news......Yep I am on the DT for PinkPaperyStudios and wait til you check them out!
This sassy cowgirl was made with PinkPapery digital images that totally ROCK. I had no idea digital stamping could be so much fun. Trust me they are very easy to download, print and color exactly the same way you do now. I am including a link so you can see the entire set that is available. http://host.pappapak16.com/~pinkpape/category_13/Between-Us-Girls-Stamps.htm This is the first card I made using the Simply Cowgirl and if I do so say myself she's fabulous. Let me know what you think? I LOVE these stamps! The image was colored with my Copic Markers and I used paper I purchased at HL. Christmas With A Twist.....

I am hosting a "Christmas With A Twist" swap which means you need to make a non-traditional Christmas card. It can be a non-traditional image or use non-tradtional colors. Last year my friend Angie (creationsbyangela.blogspot.com) sent me the cooliest card using pinks and browns so I knew those would be my color choices for this swap. I had no idea what I was going to do and then it "hit" me...wow it hurt too LOLLLLLLL. I made an ornament using my old CM circle cutter and various SU punches. I used SU Close to Cocoa ink and some Sparkles for the ornaments and yes they were one of my new 2.97 Walmart purchases. You really have to go check those out if you haven't yet. Anyway I hope you enjoy my "non-traditional colored Christmas Card"........HAPPY FRIDAY BABY!

Moving on to Christmas........

This is card #3 of the four cards my daughter and I made together from our SU workshop. Of course I will say this is my favorite because hey it's RED. Hahahha. Actually this set is so nice that it is probably one I will buy as a keeper. Very versatile! All products used on this card were from SU. Enjoy your Wednesday Hump Day!

Scrapbook Page 2

I just kept looking at my lonely template this morning and I had to post page 2. That way they "match"......don't you hate it when stuff bugs you and it's stupid? LOLLLLLLL. Anyway I quit arguing with myself and just posted the 2nd page I made. It's so funny whenever I print my photographs at my local Walgreens the lady who does them always asks how my kids are. She's a super nice girl and I love that they finish them in "matte" for me.

Template Tuesday

It's time for Tuesday Template and this week was so difficult for me. I loved looking at this sketch and thought it would be no big deal.......hahahahah.......hahahahahah. I threw away two cards after I couldn't get it to come out right. Finally I gave in and used it as a scrapbook page. It works really well that way. I didn't embellish my page much yet in the photo because I wanted to stay with the sketch but once the photograph was taken I went back in and added text and some "dog bones". Be sure to check out the other Tuesday Template players!!!!! As always if you choose to use the layout please link back and show us what you made.

FREEEEEEZING

Oh my gosh we went from having warm sunny upper 70's to upper 20's and low 30's in one day. My poor kids had to dig out winter coats and hats today before school. We never did have much of a cool Fall season. I know I know I have complained before but Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. The cold weather did help me to get some tags made for a Calendar swap I am in. I tried a couple different stamps but the size of the tags kept me limited. Yes I get stuck when doing ATC's too :) Anyway they are finally done and in honor of my daughter who loves snow and making snowmen I chose this new clear stamp I picked up at Walmart. Gasp yep I said Walmart. They have quite a few sets right now and I believe they run 2.97. Many are really cute.

Don't forget to watch for Template Tuesday (this week is a killer!) and also my DT news!

Aura Card

The Aura Technique was our latest challenge to complete on our CTRUS group and I have to admit it was sort of fun to do. Very easy to do and just puts a focus onto your main image. This image is one of the new (to me) TAC stamps I bought from my friend Angie. I wanted it for a long time and now she sold hers to me :) If you get a chance check out her blog for TAC stamps she has up for sale (creationsbyangela.blogspot.com).........ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND!

Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer

Had a very shiny nose.........trust me you don't want me to sing anymore. I'll stop there. I have had these stamps for many years and I have a whole bunch of them including Clarice, Yukon Cornelius, Abomanable??, all the misfit toys and Mrs. Claus. These stamps have never ever been inked until a couple days ago can you believe it? This is my favorite Christmas show and I couldn't ever come up with an idea that I thought was good enough for the stamps. Does anyone else do that? I'd absolutely love some help or ideas on how to use these for neat cards. I did love the layout that our SU demo gave us the other day on the snow card and so I decided to try it for Santa and Rudolph. My thought is to use the song on the inside. I thought it turned out sort of fun! I still have no idea what I'm going to do for my Christmas Cards LOL.

New Toys For Me

I just had to share what I got yesterday! I'm so excited to finally be done with my ancient old heavy Sizzix. I have fond memories of it but no more LOL. Also have you seen these new small clear stamps at WalMart? They are too cute. I picked up a couple yesterday and I think they were 2.97 each. They had quite a few to choose from for Christmas. Now today I'm off to play with my CUTTLEBUG WOOO HOOOO.

Wednesday Funny

Well today I had to share something I was sent at work. I have 2 dogs and it just totally cracked me up. I hope you have a good laugh over it too. Laughter is good for you and if you live with animals you probably get some now and then :)

I'm also sharing a photo of my little princess Lilly. She and my son were napping on the couch the other day and she looked so tiny and cute I had to take a photo. (Trust me she can act NOT so cute too!)

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Dumb gets his cast off!

WOOO HOOOOO the stinky cast is off! Brad is so much happier LOL. I would be too. His friend Nick got his off the other day so Brad was getting very impatient. He's all clear to move on to wrestling season so he's very glad and so are we.
