I did not think I was going to be able to post this week since I've been sick. I'm still recovering but I hope I'm about to the end of it. I actually made ONE card last night but that was it. It's a dual item as I'm using it for my Flutterby Wednesday and also sending it out as a pop up card. Please make sure you check all the Flutterby players and their wonderful blogs! Thank you so much for checking on me while I've been sick I do appreciate the comments and warm wishes so much.

No Post 02/22/09
I'm going to be putting my posting on hold for a few days. I've been getting sicker and sicker the past few days and now I have upper respiratory infection and sinus infection and etc. etc. etc. The creepy crud is running rampant with me right now and I just can't do anything extra. I promise I'll be back very soon!

Flutterby Wednesday 021809
I love this paper!!! I picked up a pack of new paper at Michaels and this has to be one of my favs. When Danni chose purple and blues for us to use this week I was very happy. This is a very old SU set that I have barely touched from 1998 or 1999. It's actually on foam. Remember those stamps? LOL. Hey they still work quite well so I'll keep them around for awhile more :) Make sure you check out all the Flutterby Wednesday girls blogs! There are some beautiful flutterbys for you to enjoy.
Slumber Party
This adorable digi image is from PinkPaperyStudios and is from the Doodle Girls line. They are all so much fun to work with and color. I used this Slumber Party girl in honor of my daughter who finally got to have her party this past weekend. I'll tell you 7 little screaming girls once a year is enough for me LOL. This image was colored with my copics and layered using some cheery yellow DP and for the blue cardstock I scored it using my fabo Scor-Pal. Have you tried the diagonal grid yet? It's really easy and gives a neat effect. Please check out thre PPS site and the other DT girls blogs for their challenge cards today.

This week our sketch came to us from KIMMIE and I LOVE IT. Seriously this one was a blast to make. I had so much fun with it and ended up using it to make a birthday card for someone in my class. Kimmie - excellent for your first sketch! We are glad to have you in our group. :) Make sure you check out the other TemplatesRUs ladies!

Monday Madness 021609
Happy Presidents Day! I have no classes today but so much studying to do. I have a very big test tomorrow in my Medical Terminology class and my brain is just spinning. Today for Monday Madness I wanted to steer you toward Amazing Paper Grace. She has the sweetest story to share.
Also just to have your laugh for the day I am sharing the Pearls cartoon from yesterday. Having to face my 40th birthday this year sort of puts this into perspective and I understand how he feels LOL.
Last but not least if you are home today and you are looking for a good family movie to watch I'm recommending Second Hand Lions. We watched it again this weekend at my daughters party. Have a great week!

PPS DT 021109
Oh I seriously loved making this card. I have so much fun doing paper piecing and it's just as easy with a digi image as it is a regular stamp. TUT - all you do is print your image on your cardstock and then print again on your printed paper and then cut out and adhere as normal. It's really that simple! Our challenge for PinkPaperyStudios this week was to create something with "pink bling" and to use something from the Whimsy Studio line. You have to check them out they are spectacular. I also added some of the PPS cardscents and this card is not only pretty but smells wonderful. I used the Lime Vanilla scent and I cannot tell you how great it really smells. Please make sure you visit the PPS site and check out all the great images and scents you can order. Also check out the other DT members cards this week. You'll enjoy your visit!
**** Please make sure you visit DT Lindsay, she is hosting our challenge and if you participate you'll have a great opportunity to win! All you have to do is follow the sketch we used last week. GO QUICK :)
FlutterBy Wednesday 021109
I'm so glad I was able to play this month. It's been a lot of fun finding different things to do with "flutterbys". I am loving this week's challenge for us, it was to add some sparkle and buttons. (Hard to see but there is sparkles on each dot of the flutterby). I found this really cool set at Michaels, it was sets of flower stamps, inks, paper and buttons that all matched. I decided to use it along with my flutterby this week and I love the different colors of it. I never would have put lime green, red, black and white together but it somehow works. I guess that's why they pay those designers the big bucks LOL. ** Please remember to visit the other team members blogs and if you play along this week let Danni know.

Template Tuesday 021009
This week our wonderful sketch was from the lovely Miss Angela and I will say this was one of my favorites.......yes it has circles...........I love them but not just that. It was a fun card to make in general and I left off the saying to show you how versatile it is. I can use it for get well, birthday, sympathy, thank you or whatever. I hope you'll play along with us! Make sure you visit the other Template Tuesday girls!

Paper Mosiac 020909
This card was a ton of fun to make and I was so happy with how it turned out. Can you believe I had never tried this technique before? One of the groups I am on chose this as a challenge for this month and when I first saw it I wasn't really impressed but once I actually sat down to work on it...........it was nowhere near as difficult as I was making it out to be in my head LOL. I love the paper I chose (didn't use old postcards like the directions) and I'll definitely be making more of these! I hope you enjoy it. I'm also showing you a close up of the mosiac. I know some people call it a zig zag so either is fine. The tutorial will be posted later this week!

GO Brad! 020709
Today our middle school had an all day wrestling meet up in Warsaw Indiana. This first photo is my son after his pin (win) against Shmucker (great bunch of wrestlers) and then his win by forfeit. The referee was having fun and telling all the kids to show their muscles whenever they had a forfeit and most of them started laughing and could barely do it. We took third out of eight schools so not a bad day overall. My son did very well and we are proud of him!

Friday Fun
Today I thought I'd share some beautiful swap cards that I have received from ladies on the Diva group as well as a very funny cute cat video. You all know I live in a zoo right? Yep three cats, two dogs, two kids and a husband....oh and then there is the fish, Eeyore. He is so funny when he sleeps. It's just odd to watch a fish sleep. :) Do you have any beta fish? Do they blow up when you walk up to the bowl? I swear our fish is so jumpy he's going to give himself an anxiety attack one day soon. LOL. The valentine card is from Joani for our Jan Sketch challenge and the other is from Marv and was for an asian swap. Aren't they pretty? Ok now for your daily laugh which is vital to your health. This video is so funny, we have one cat that walks on the power strip and turns the printer off so it reminds me of something my cats would do. I hope you have a great weekend! We will be at a super dual wrestling meet tomorrow out of town and I'm not sure if I'll have a chance to post or not. GO BRAD!!!!

Danni's Flutterby Wednesday 020409
I'm doing the happy dance today. I am now an Flutterby Wednesday Team member for February. Please check out Danni's blog to see the neatest slide show of all the team member cards! I'll be adding a blog roll later today with the team members and I hope you like my first card. I love the way lavendar and green looks together and at this point I am ready for spring so this was a fun card to make. I stamped the flutterbys and then colored them with copics and cut out the whole image. The DP was scored using my fabulous scor-pal and then I used a lot of my SU punches for the flowers and corners. Finally a touch of ribbon and it's done. :) I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!
PinkPaperyStudios DT Challenge 020409
This week we had such a fun challenge! Ok so I love sketches :) But this one is so good that I just had a lot of fun making it. I ended up making it into a birthday card for one of my friends and attaching a cute birthday balloon to it. She thought it was funny and really liked it.
I encourage you to go check out the PinkPaperyStudios blog and see what wonderful valentine images you can download. I will be the first to admit they are fabulous! Seriously you will love them. Visit here!

Template Tuesday 020309
This week our sketch came to us from the lovely Miss Melinda. I tried to make it a fun retro funky card but I'm not so sure I'd choose the same papers and colors again. I really l ove this sketch and I am going to make another card shortly using it. I feel like it's a very versatile sketch and easy to do, I'm just not so happy with mine this week. LOL. Oh well :) Please let us know if you try the sketch so we can all see it and be sure to check out the other lovely ladies on the TemplatesRUS group. They all do great work!

Monday Madness
Well what was your favorite commercial? What did you think was the stupidest? I think the cars.com was really "cheesy" and I can't believe they wasted that much money. I loved all the Budweiser horse commercials especially the one where the horse followed Daisy to the circus. I cracked up. My all time favorites were the Monster and Career.com commercials as well as the one with Mrs. Potato Head when she whipped out the "angry eyes"....I totally cracked up. Ok for the game - wasn't it great? Yes I wished that Arizona would have won but they sure played a good game. I was SO NOT impressed with all the fighting on both sides and I think they should have had more personal fouls called or bigger penalties if that's possible.
Well onto my card. I was involved in an Asian swap on the Diva group and I sure do hope my partner likes her card! I used an olive green carstock and layered an asian mulberry paper and then added a couple layers of cardstock. I stamped the asian images using Versamark on the olive cardstock. The main image is an ivory or cream colored cardstock and stamped with Brilliance Ink and finally colored with Copics :) I found the process of this card very relaxing and I enjoyed the colors of it. Not so sure I'm liking the "layout" and the next time I'd make some changes but for once I let it go and just enjoyed what I made the first time around. LOL.
My son has his first home wrestling meet tonight so I'll be gone this entire evening and (gasp) I still need to study more for my Medical Terminology test tomorrow. I'm telling you my Med Term and Anatomy and Physiology classes are kicking my butt :) All I do anymore is study. LOL. Ok I'm really enjoying it so I'll quit whining now! I promise. Hope you have a great Monday and a good week!
