Cup for Kim - Shower her with cards ladies

Ok so those of you who know me know that I am addicted to Higher Grounds Coffee. Seriously. I used to like Starbucks but I LOVE Higher Grounds. I pull up to the drive-thru and they know me before I order! LOL. The primary owner, Kim is fighting a pretty severe form of breast cancer. I really hope that you will join me in doing a few things if possible. #1 - if you are near Fort Wayne, New Haven or Indianapolis - GO GET A CUP OF COFFEE for Kim. #2 - Since we are a lot of ladies who make cards - please send one to her at the corporate office. #3 - Donate or walk for breast cancer in your area. #4 - Pray for Kim and all the others in her shoes.

New Haven vs. Carroll

Well even if Brad has a cast on he can still make the tackle. LOL. His cast is black fiberglass sort of but when he plays they have to pack it with foam and tape it up. Way to go Brad!

Digital Stamping

OH MY GOSH - have you tried "digital stamping"......I have no idea why but I was thinking it woudln't be as much fun. WHAT was I thinking? I love this image and easy as pie Amy sent it to me and I printed it off. I colored it a couple different times using my favorite Copics and then I even paper pieced one. You must hurry over and check out the new "digi" stamps from Amy at http://www.card-scents.com/ plus you can order her yummy scents to add to your cards. Now that I've played around a bit I am curious to know if you have tried this and what are your favorite tips and tricks.

Card Candyyyyyyyyyyyy

I finally get a chance to post the cards well card and tag I made for Angie using the gorgeous card candy that Tricia sent me. This was really a fun challenge. I love this folded flap card that I learned to do from using my scor-pal. I still had leftover card candy so I added the tag as well. Have a fun evening!

Broken Thumb

Wellllll my DS came home last night from football and said "hey mom check out my thumb it's broken"......I thought he was joking until he said "nope doesn't hurt at all" then I realized it's three times the size of normal, turning purple and numb. Yep probably is, so we went to the after hours clinic last night who promptly sent us over to the hospital for Xrays. Today we went to the Orthopedic Dr. who put a cast on him but the good news is he can still play football. I thought for sure he'd be done since he broke it big time, but apparently as long as it's in this cast he can play. He's much happier about this than I am. LOL. Well you know what we say "GO DAWGS"

Ghouls Ghosts and Goblins

Oh my goodness I think this was one of the first SU sets I had to have purchased. It's on FOAM and how long has that been? LOL. I still love this set though, it's so fun to use and color with copics. Have I mentioned lately I love my copics? Yep. I also love Halloween and Fall, it's my favorite season. I just wish we were not in the upper 70's again today. I could go with a crisp fall day about now! Ok maybe not tomorrow night while I'm sitting outside at my son's football game :) I know picky picky. ENJOY!

Beautiful

I wanted to take a photo of these gorgeous flowers that my DH brought me home. The colors are just wonderful fushia and pinks. I love them!

Weekend?

Where did the weekend go? I'm really not sure. I had very high hopes for World Card Making Day but...........I ended up out in the garage all weekend with my DH working on cleaning it out.
This summer I brought home a couple tables/chairs and a lamp and some things from my grandmas house and my DH has a really bad habit of bring home broken lawn tractors. Seriously we are now up to 5. All of them broken.........(I wish I was kidding not one runs)........
and we still had boxes from moving/combining households. So with the cooler weather coming and the fact that we have a 3 car garage and 4 vehicles......it sure would be nice to at least park 2 of them inside wouldn't it? NO I DID NOT take photos. It was seriously embarrassing. Every time someone would leave the garage doors open I'd freak and shut them. However we've made so much progress. Goodwill and Freecycle must love us lately. LOL.

I didn't get a chance to participate in any of the challenges this weekend but I did actually sit down at my desk and get 2 things made. Unfortunately I can't post them yet. AUGHGHG. I used my gorgeous card candy from Trishia and ended up being able to make 2 things with them for my next round partner which is my dear friend the crazy Angie. So that's why I can't put the pictures up yet LOL.

It was a gorgeous weekend here and we spent a lot of it in the fresh air. Hope you did too!

My new dear friend Cathy sent me this beautiful sparkly pumpkin card. I just love it. We are trading cards each Wednesday this month and I can't wait to see what she sends next!

Bones Part Deux

So last week I introduced you to "Bones" and I shared a photo taken a couple months ago. Well a few weeks ago when my lovely DD somehow got a freshly sharpened pencil stuck in her arm during a test at school.................we visited our favorite family doctor and got lucky enough to have the room shared by Bones. HOWEVER as you can see Bones wasn't faring so well. Somebody broke his jaw and his leg. It took so long to get "the lead out" that I didn't ask what happened to him at the time. I do solemnly swear it was not anyone in our family! We liked him and enjoyed seeing him when we visited.

GO BULLDOGS!

No it's not a card or a scrapbook page but it is something I made for my son. I bought the B and the football at Jo Ann's and painted it with Acrylics. Now I'm waiting to seal it and then my DH will put on a stake for our yard. GO DAWGS!

Fall Sunflower

Sunday is usually a pretty low-key day for our family. It normally involves some cleaning, working in the garage (which is never ending......) and today since my (*DF*DF&^) back hurts I stayed in my office and worked on straightening up a bit. It's still seems such a mess but I promise it's better than it was and like Nicey says on Clean House....you have to start somewhere. And wow my room has never looked like those people. It's comical to watch.

This card was based off a card I made during a SU punch class at my friend Nancy's. This is my "redone" version of it. I keep all the cards I make during her classes for my patterns and then sometimes recreate them at home. This one is super easy if you have the oval shaped punches from SU. I LOVE SU PUNCHES. Have a great Sunday.

Tag You Are It

I’ve been tagged by Susan at http://www.stampingtink.blogspot.com/

Just so you know, here are the rules for ya:
1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as their blog.

1. I have a wicked sense of humor. Insert Evil laugh here :)
2. I'm a news junkie. I watch CNN and The Weather Channel a lot. I also read the newspaper daily.
3. I'm psychic - I already knew Clay Aiken was gay. I mean seriously this is news????Ok so maybe my family and friends would say psycho not psychic. If that darn Psycho Stamper Debby LOL hadn't taken the name I'd have used that instead but I'm certain being a Diva suits me :)
4. Ummm running out of ideas here. My favorite color is Red. Bet you never would have guessed that.
5. I absolutely LOVE to read. My favorites are mysteries and I can finish a book in a day. I read very fast.
6. Have you seen the cartoon Pearls Before Swine? It's my favorite cartoon. I'd love to meet the creator. I'm sure we were twins separated at birth. Seriously it's one you follow for a long time and it's even funnier over time. Check it out on comics.com - I have it sent to my email each day and it's one of the first things I look for each morning.
7. My family and my friends are the most important thing in the world to me. Value your friendships, they are your greatest treasure and your support system.

Ok enough about me. Since everyone I know has already been tagged..........I'm going to pick the one person that I love who has recently started stamping again.........LOL....
ANGIE. Her blog is Creationsbyangela.blogspot.com and she made a beautiful halloween card today. Go check her out.

Have a blesssed day.

Flourish Fun

I think I love flourishes. One of the card swaps I'm in for September is to make anything with a flourish on it. I am having fun with this challenge and think it's been a lot of fun. I only have a couple flourish stamps but they are so versatile I think you can do a lot of different things with them. What are some of your favorite stamps to use?

Meet Bones

I don't know about you but I spend too much time at our Doctors due to having children who play sports and me being a KLUTZ and well that lovely FLU season is approaching....so when we are there we look for things to entertain us and keep us occupied. Although we are very lucky our Dr. very rarely keeps us waiting long. Seriously he's the best. Anyway - in one of the rooms there is a skeleton that we've nicknamed Bones. Sometimes (and I'll never admit when LOL) we like to leave things with Bones to make people laugh. A few months ago I was there and I swear my son (who is 14) and not with me at the time possessed me and took me over (sort of like Freaky Friday) and persuaded me to leave Bones with a laugh for the next person.

I promise you "NO BONES WERE HARMED IN THE TAKING OF THIS PHOTO"........

Challenge Time

A combo challenge killed two cards with one stone LOL. I wanted to try using my scor-pal and making a card for the last challenge and also need to make a card using for my CTRUS group. The background was made scoring my lines every half inch and then turning the card to do the second row of lines. The ribbon is some very pretty teal someone sent me as an RAK and then my image was one I picked up at HL a long time ago. I stamped it in white pigment ink and then while it was still wet I colored the image with chalks. My swap partner has received it so I was safe to post. Hope you have a great Friday!

Thursday Travel...a bit late....

_#$%*$%&a$_#%

Not having so much fun this week. I have to wear this boot/cast thing for 6 weeks which means I have about 5 weeks to go and yesterday I somehow was walking too fast and started to lose my balance and twisted my back. Now I can't sit, stand, walk, lie down without wanting to scream. I am off to see the Dr. today which I know means muscle relaxers and I'm not good about taking meds but I'm so cranky that I guess I better. I'll be posting Thursday Travel later today so please be patient with me :)

OMGGGG I SCRAPPED 2 PAGES!

Hahahhahah seriously I even had to call Angie last night and tell her. I have not scrapped for like ummmmmm 5 years. I felt so stupid about the whole thing that I found an old scrapbook magazine and followed a layout LOL. I was very unsure of myself but I think it turned out pretty well. I told Miss Susan at(http://www.stampingtink.blogspot.com/) last week that it was the same as making a card but just bigger.....so I figured if I could run my mouth then I better back it up hahahahaha. These pages are from my son's first home football game this year. I had so much fun making them that I think I'll be doing more. Check up on me!
