Zeus

Can you say Holy Crap I'm huge? Yep this is my friend Dawn's new dog. While he's certainly adorable - HE IS GINORMOUSSSSSSSSS. And he really seems so sweet. We have enjoyed him.

Flying Monkeys

This card was sooo much fun to make. I made it especially for Danni who is the Diva this month and is the newest Design Team Member for Missy B. I tried a lot of things on this card but I think it all came together nicely. And I love my new punch! Congratulations Danni!

My Workspace

Now that my husband is sharing my office space I really need to reorganize. Besides adding more totes which I have everywhere ....LOL.....do you have any ideas to help me store all my much loved items? I'm just looking to organize better. Is it this challenging for everyone or just me?

Wednesday Funny

Very quietly she confided to her husband on the eve of their 50th anniversary,
that she was having an affair.
He turned to her and asked, 'Are you having it catered'?
And that, my friend, is the definition of'OLD'!!!!

Oh Grow Up!

I can't believe I forgot to post yesterday LOL. What was I thinking? In honor of Danni getting chosen to be on the Missy B design team.......all the birthday cards I neede to make this month were Missy B. I ordered these from her awhile back and never sat down to mount them. I HATE mounting. I know it is cheaper but it's such a pain that I'd rather pay a bit more and get them at least with foam already on them. I don't need wood just the foam sticky stuff. Anyway I paper pieced them and tried to use some funky retro sort of fall looking paper I had. I thought they were quite cute so for those of you who have September birthdays.....do not look........hahahah.

Another Fabulous Fall Day

What a rainy gloomy day here in Indiana but we need the rain so badly that it's ok. Even if it's the weekend LOL. We've suffered a drought here this summer and our yard is brown and the farmers are expecting quite a bit less yield from corn and soybeans so better late than never. My daughters game was cancelled today so I hope to get some stamping done! Wooo hooo. I love any extra time I can get. As you can tell I've been on a fall theme and this card was made for a Sketch Challenge. Have you ever thought hey that looks good, mailed it off and then looked at the photo and realized you screwed something up? Hahhahaha. Check out my background. The embossed flourish is facing the wrong way LOLLLLL. I hope my partner doesn't mind :) It was made with love. Just remember that. Oh my gosh I keep laughing now when I see it. SORRY. Have a fabulous Saturday and hope the weather is better where you are!

Fabulous Flourish

On the fabulous Diva group our September challenge was to create cards using a flourish. I know my friend Angie will know how long I've struggled to use this paticualar TAC stamp LOL.

I bought it since my DH is a train nerd but have since not been happy with any card I've attempted to make UNTIL NOW! I took the stamp and inked it using Close to Cocoa and then trimmed the edges and sponged them with the same Close to Cocoa. Finally I wadded up a piece of scrap paper and rubbed more than mustard over the image to help "age" it. The flourish was stamped on mustard colored cardstock using the same cocoa ink and then again using the same scrap paper added dabs of ink. I can't wait til the next challenge Ladies :)

September 11, 2001

Do you remember where you were when you heard the news that the World Trade Center Towers had been hit? I do. My daughter had just started her first day of "pre-school". She was three years old and I remember thinking our lives will change. I drove by my sons elementary school just to visually see it standing in one piece and realize that while my kids were safe so many lost parents and family members that day. We have a family friend who is over in Iraq in order to protect the lives of innocent victims and while I wait for his safe return I pray for everyone in our country along with our leaders to protect us and bring our troops home safely.

Thursday Travel

Today I thought I'd do something a little different for Thursday Travel. A few days ago we were sitting in the kitchen and I looked out the patio door and saw this really cool hot air balloon in the sky. We all watched it for awhile wondering where they were going and what it would be like to ride in one. I can imagine (if you are not afraid of heights) that it would be peaceful, relaxing and quite beautiful. Tell me would you ride in one given the chance?

Are you ready?

I don't know about you but I'm ready for fall. I'm looking forward to cooler weather, kids football games, hoodies (sweatshirts) and a harvest moon. I picked up this stamp a long time ago at a convention and I still love it, mostly due to the funny saying. I've never had copics before though so this is my first year making it so "bright". I LOVE Halloween always have and still do even though I skip most of the candy these days. :)

Never Ending Card

So have you ever made a Never Ending Card? It was my turn to pick a challenge on the CTRUS group I am on and I think I drove everyone crazeeee. LOL. Including me! While the directions were very easy on the scoring part especially if you have a Scor-pal....I had difficulty understanding the folds and flipping it different ways. Once I got it though I had tons of fun with it. If you are up to a difficult challenge then I suggest this one. I ended up enjoying it a lot and I appreciate the easy directions and pictures that Vicki put together.

Sympathy Cards

Unfortunately for me I've had a lot of these to make lately. I followed a card sent to me earlier this year by a fabulous card maker Julia on the CTRUS group. Mine are nowhere near as pretty as hers but I think they came out ok. I made a couple to keep on hand in different colors. I used a fabulous set from Gina K and some various ink pads. Very simple yet nice.

Fabulous Flourish

Flourishes - at first I thought they were too formal for the stuff I like to do but I have to admit they sure have grown on me. I've used them quite a bit lately and what I also realized that one of my favorite embossing folder to reach for is the flourish one! DUH somedays I'm slow. On this card the stamp came from Rubbernecker and I colored it with my Copics.

I stamped the flourishes on both the pink and white cardstock with my versamark and embossed them. I think her dress reminds me of something my grandmother would buy. She was quite a beautiful lady and a sharp dresser. I know I'd love to wear this dress but where??? LOL. Enjoy the Holiday weekend with your family and friends.

Fun 'n Easy

I wanted some easy quick but fun cards and this was one I came up with. This is an awesome stamp from http://www.sideshowstamps.com/, if you get a chance you should check out their stuff. It's really retro and fun. If you have an easy layout you like to use for quick card please share. I'm so bored with my own stuff lately. LOL.

Cherry Bomb

Yesssssssss! I got a chance to stamp tonight, FINALLY. I've had these stamps for awhile but hadn't had a chance to make a card yet. I purchased a couple sets from http://www.bombshell.stamps/ but I've been experimenting coloring some images instead of making whole cards. Tonight I decided to paperpiece her bathing suit and since it was polkadots I used my embossing folder with the dots on a couple layers. I also used my flourish folder on the black but the sun sort of blocks it out. This "Cherry Bomb" was inked with Brilliance ink and colored with a combo of copics and prisma markers. Hope you enjoy!

Black and White

I am sure hoping it's safe to post this now :) This was made for a special Diva. It was my first attempt at playing with acetate. I stamped the images using versamark and brilliance and then embossed it using clear powder. I used Colorbox white pigment ink for the black cardstock. It was fun to try something new but still debating on if it looks ok. Have a great Tuesday.
