More cards for you today! These were from a swap on the bella group awhile ago. PapermakeupKatie was the hostess and you had to make the cards completely and NOT color the images. So when I received these cards the bellas were "naked". I found them in with my completed cards the other day and realized I hadn't colored them. I pulled these two out and used my copics on them. It was fun and quick to do. I was really glad to find them! See if I was a tad more organized I wouldn't have filed them in the wrong place LOL.
I've been on a pink kick lately, it's one of my favorite colors to work with. I'm not really a pastel girl but I do love pink a lot. My bella name on the bella yahoo group is Pinkabella LOL. These were some of the images I received while I was image queen and were colored with my copics. I had a lot of fun using them.
I've been holding off on posting these cards this week in order to give the receipient time to get them but I think it's ok to post now. These were made for an Under The Sea Swap. I realized after I signed up that I have no ocean themed stamps so I had to make due LOL. I knew I wanted to try this lilly pad scene and color it with twinkling h20's but I ended up mixing in some pearlx as well. I stamped the image in gold pigment ink and used clear embossing powder and let it dry for awhile before I used the twinkling h20's and my waterbrush. It was fun to try a different way to color since I've been so hooked on my copics lately. The Koi fish I stamped in Versamark and Stazon and embossed. I did color the fish with my copics and them again embossed the entire colored image with my Versamarker and then let sit for awhile. I have no idea why I do that but I knew I was going to watercolor so I wanted to give everything time to sit for a bit and make sure it was totally dry. I then ended up using different colors of twinkling h20's and some pearlx again for the water. I started with a very light green then let it dry and added some blue and let dry then went over it with a clear tinted with gold. Get our your watercolors this weekend and have some fun! Did I mention I hate Christmas in July? I've always hated that concept/idea but I can't say that I have any paticular reason why LOL. Deb from our SCCB yahoo group challenged us to make a Christmas Card to get our ideas rolling. Do you have any idea how difficult this was for me? It's been so hot and rainy around here that it was hard to get into the sprit of things and then one day I found my retro Christmas paper.........then the lights went off and I saw a great sketch and next thing I know the card was done. I will give credit to my son for picking out the stamp, seriously I couldn't even decide what stamp to use so I told him to open my Christmas drawer and just pick one he liked. I'd say he chose pretty well. A nice sleigh ride in July would be nice! DEB - thanks for making us do this :) I found that I do like Christmas in July!
The latest challenge I particpated in on our CTRUS group was to make cupcakes. I don't know about you but I love cupcakes. They are so much fun and just the right size to eat! My favorite would have white icing with sprinkles. Have a cupcake day!
Since I posted the retro commercials I thought I'd share this card with you today. It's a Crafty Secrets Stamp and don't you just love it. I've had a lot of fun playing with it lately. There was a challenge on the Scor-Pal group to make a top bottom gate fold card so I gave it a whirl and this is what I came up with. I needed a thank you card for my friend here at work and we both love this type of stuff. I think she enjoyed it :) As always I used brilliance ink and my copics.
This card was a little difficult for me because I had to follow a layout and of course my dear friend Angie (who is MIA these days) allowed me to borrow her star punches since I don't own any :) but anyway, this was a sketch challenge for the Diva group and I was able to use one of the many images I received during my Image Queen Reign last month. It's so cute isn't it? It's from Danni so I'm sure it's a TAC image. I love cows and always have. We had some on my grandparents farm but they were Angus and they were solid black all over but I loved petting them and watching them out in the fields. I hated when they went to "sale". But then we would get new babies and that was always fun too.
Ahhhh the good life, a hot bubble bath and some relaxation what could be better? This bella was made for a Diva named Beth and now that I know she has received it I wanted to make sure and get it posted. I printed this layout a while ago from Tangii's blog and I've used it a couple times. It's just really fun to do. I used Brilliance ink and yes I colored her with my copic markers and added a touch of sparkle to her bubbles. I hope you take some time out to relax and unwind this evening.
