Fabulous Flourish

Flourishes - at first I thought they were too formal for the stuff I like to do but I have to admit they sure have grown on me. I've used them quite a bit lately and what I also realized that one of my favorite embossing folder to reach for is the flourish one! DUH somedays I'm slow. On this card the stamp came from Rubbernecker and I colored it with my Copics.

I stamped the flourishes on both the pink and white cardstock with my versamark and embossed them. I think her dress reminds me of something my grandmother would buy. She was quite a beautiful lady and a sharp dresser. I know I'd love to wear this dress but where??? LOL. Enjoy the Holiday weekend with your family and friends.

Fun 'n Easy

I wanted some easy quick but fun cards and this was one I came up with. This is an awesome stamp from http://www.sideshowstamps.com/, if you get a chance you should check out their stuff. It's really retro and fun. If you have an easy layout you like to use for quick card please share. I'm so bored with my own stuff lately. LOL.

Cherry Bomb

Yesssssssss! I got a chance to stamp tonight, FINALLY. I've had these stamps for awhile but hadn't had a chance to make a card yet. I purchased a couple sets from http://www.bombshell.stamps/ but I've been experimenting coloring some images instead of making whole cards. Tonight I decided to paperpiece her bathing suit and since it was polkadots I used my embossing folder with the dots on a couple layers. I also used my flourish folder on the black but the sun sort of blocks it out. This "Cherry Bomb" was inked with Brilliance ink and colored with a combo of copics and prisma markers. Hope you enjoy!

Black and White

I am sure hoping it's safe to post this now :) This was made for a special Diva. It was my first attempt at playing with acetate. I stamped the images using versamark and brilliance and then embossed it using clear powder. I used Colorbox white pigment ink for the black cardstock. It was fun to try something new but still debating on if it looks ok. Have a great Tuesday.

Halloween Wiper Card

Have you ever made a wiper card? I love the little pop ups but I can't say it was the easiest card I ever made. These are some older SU Halloween stamps that I love. I inked them up with Brilliance Ink and Versamark and colored them with my Copics. Then I colored them all over again with my Versamark Marker and embossed again. Finally I cut out a circle and taped it down so I could sponge the background. I had a lot of fun making the card just not the wipers LOL.

Friday Challenge

I haven't posted a challenge on Fridays for awhile so this week I thought I'd give you one to try.

I was in a swap on the Diva group for Waterfall cards and I made two this week. I think I shared the Halloween one I made earlier and now that I know my swap partner has received hers I can post the Fall themed one I made. I'm also adding a link to the directions for you to try it. I have to say it is a lot of fun to make and easier than it looks.

My kids went back to school on Tuesday. I was glad but not sure they were LOL. Actually I think they are both glad to be out of the house and with their friends. This is our last year of middle school and elementary school. Yikes!

Halloween Waterfall

Awhile back Danni challenged me to learn how to make waterfall cards and they were so much fun that I joined her swap. We had to make a fall themed waterfall card so while I was at it I decided to do a Halloween one as well. I dug out my old SU stamps to play with for this card. I've been doing that a lot lately versus buying every new thing I see :) If you have not had a chance to make one of these cards they really are easier than they look and so much fun to make. You can find any tutorial you could dream up on SplitCoastStampers.

Old Stamps

Some of you know that we've been having to help clean my grandmothers house and get ready for the auction. One of the things my sister and my step mom found were these old wooden stamps. My grandmother taught 1st and 2nd grades for a very long time and I am sure she used these in her class room. I was so excited to get them and cherish them very much. When you turn the stamp over there is an outline stamp of whatever word is written on the back. They are really cool. Has anyone seen these before? I'm sure there are more and some are missing but I just love them.

Happy Holidays

Since I have had NO time to stamp the past few days I am so happy to be able to share a really cool card I received. This came from my friend Susan who knows I LOVEEE retro and she also sent me some of these images. I have to say it's very special to me today as we've spent the past several days cleaning and sorting out my grandmothers house to get ready for the auction. She had so many neat items that were older it was hard to decide what was the coolest or the prettiest thing. My grandma was a very good "shopper" LOL and is quite a beautiful lady. This card from Susan reminds me of her. She's in a nursing home now and not able to shop anymore but I know she'd love this card as well. Make sure you visit Susan's blog at http://stampingtink.blogspot.com/

Heartbreaker

We had a pretty busy weekend and I only had a little bit of time to stamp. I was able to color a few images from my bombshellstamps collection and this was one of them. I worked on the shading for quite awhile. I sure wish we had a copic certification class closer to Indiana LOL. I am not sure you can see it but I used a versamark stamp on the right side of the card on the black and added some really cool flourishes. I was quite happy with the way it turned out. Hope you have a rockin Monday. (You can sing Pat Benetar now).

August Sketch Challenge

This card was made for a challenge and I used one of my images I received last month during my image queen reign. I had so much fun coloring it and putting this together. I love my copics and my embossing folders! Hope you have a great Sunday.

Createx Creation

Well.........well.........well........I can't really say much about this technique except it was messy and interesting. LOL. Our bimonthly challenge on the CTRUS group was to make a createx creation card from the Technique Junkies newsletter. Basically you take your paints and put drops on a piece of glossy cardstock and cover it with another piece of glossy cardstock and smoosh it all around. Then you pull apart and let dry. I thought I had picked out cool colors, I used a silver, a black and hot pink and an aqua but when I was done it looked like I had blobs and I didn't know what to do. After much staring at my big mess and thinking oh man Carole will hate me (my partner in the swap) I finally decided to make this flutterby. I did emboss it because it didn't show up very well on top of the colorful ink. All in all I was surprised and pleased with it in the end. If you haven't tried this you should it was interesting and fun to see how it came out.

Color your own bellas

More cards for you today! These were from a swap on the bella group awhile ago. PapermakeupKatie was the hostess and you had to make the cards completely and NOT color the images. So when I received these cards the bellas were "naked". I found them in with my completed cards the other day and realized I hadn't colored them. I pulled these two out and used my copics on them. It was fun and quick to do. I was really glad to find them! See if I was a tad more organized I wouldn't have filed them in the wrong place LOL.

August Challenge

This was a challenge on the Rockbottomscrapbooksupplies group for the month of August. I thought it was a beautiful dress and wish I had it LOL. I decided it needed a fun summer hat so my challenge card was a hat. I used cream card stock and stamped the flowers with orange and pink pigment ink and let dry. Then just added some ribbon and flowers. I think my friend Nancy gave us this templete many many moons ago from a SU workshop.

Just for ewe.............

I've been on a pink kick lately, it's one of my favorite colors to work with. I'm not really a pastel girl but I do love pink a lot. My bella name on the bella yahoo group is Pinkabella LOL. These were some of the images I received while I was image queen and were colored with my copics. I had a lot of fun using them.

Friday Challenge and Under The Sea

I've been holding off on posting these cards this week in order to give the receipient time to get them but I think it's ok to post now. These were made for an Under The Sea Swap. I realized after I signed up that I have no ocean themed stamps so I had to make due LOL. I knew I wanted to try this lilly pad scene and color it with twinkling h20's but I ended up mixing in some pearlx as well. I stamped the image in gold pigment ink and used clear embossing powder and let it dry for awhile before I used the twinkling h20's and my waterbrush. It was fun to try a different way to color since I've been so hooked on my copics lately. The Koi fish I stamped in Versamark and Stazon and embossed. I did color the fish with my copics and them again embossed the entire colored image with my Versamarker and then let sit for awhile. I have no idea why I do that but I knew I was going to watercolor so I wanted to give everything time to sit for a bit and make sure it was totally dry. I then ended up using different colors of twinkling h20's and some pearlx again for the water. I started with a very light green then let it dry and added some blue and let dry then went over it with a clear tinted with gold. Get our your watercolors this weekend and have some fun! That is my Friday Challenge to you this week. Have a wonderful weekend.
